Stroller Derby

Who would have ever thought that navigating a stroller through the very heavy crowds at the fair would have been so hard???? I never did. I told my husband "I got this, piece of cake" after he offered to push. I should of just let em. I think that was the most painful experience a mother has to go through for the first time. Oh, I am so ready for next time, but my first experience doing it was quite an adventure.

It all started at the entrance of the fair, where the exited mommy's & daddy's had there very own special line for the STROLLERS! When I saw how long the line was, that should have been my first clue that there were going to be TON of strollers (and people) there. Now, keep in mind, this was our first BIG outing where we had to go through a stroller check, so this was all new to us. When the security guard asked us to take out our diaper bag, I about fainted. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I wanted to ask him, "Do you know how long it just took us to get it under there, secure it, and make sure nothing was falling out?" But I kept my mouth shut and started tugging and pulling away until it finally came out. If you have seen my bag, you know what I am talking about (see pic below if you have not). It's huge and barley fits as it is. But we successfully made it through the entrance and on our way we went.

(The bag that does not fit under the stroller without an enormous effort)!

Things were going great, we visited the farm animals, which Chloe LOVED! But after that, the entire city decided to come to the fair at the same time. OMG, I was afraid to push the damn stroller. There were people EVERYWHERE! My sister and her husband were walking in front of us, kind of clearing the way. I was trying to enjoy myself, looking at all of the vendors, but they had to keep stopping, and I swear I must have ran into my sister at least ten times. (Note to self for next time, you cannot look anywhere but in front of you or YOU WILL hit the person in front of you). You would swear that all of the mommies were in a race, which resulted in them cutting us off left and right. The funniest part was when I hit another stroller. You should have seen the look on the ladies face. If looks could kill, I would have been dead. Come on lady, like you have never hit another stroller, give me a break. I begged David, my sister, even her husband to push the stroller and they all laughed at me. Talk about new mommy initiation! Here are some fun pics from the day, I wish I would have taken a pic of the crowd that I had to navigate through, but I was not exactly thinking straight.

Haha! I used to purposely run over people who got in my way, and then I'd be all "oops, my bad!" LOL
